Information for Journalists
Registration of Journalists
Members of the press should register to get accreditation to the Congress. If you would like to register to the Congress as a journalist, send an email to Dr. Zsuzsanna Bosze at bosze@abc.hu. For full registration a proof of your journalist status is required. For your final registreation you will have to present this proof to our staff at the Press Desk at the Congress Venue. Journalists may register any time now, or at the Press Desk of the Congress venue. Please note that this press badge is not available for scientists working in professional scientific journals.
Press Conference
A Press Conference will be held on July 4th between 13:00 and 14:00 in the Interview Room.
Preliminary Program of the Press Conference:
  • Péter Friedrich, chairman of the Congress - the FEBS Congresses and IUBMB Conferences, the importance of the Protein World
  • Balázs Sarkadi, chairman of the Scientific Programme Committee of the Congress - Scientific Program, a Congress of scientific novelty and excellence
  • Natalie Strynadka, plenary lecturer - How to fight against bacterial resistance?
  • Péter Csermely, chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Congress - a Congress to show the creativity of science and that Science is Fun
  • Mary Osborn, president of IUBMB - 50 years of IUBMB and the Congress as a conference to discuss the role of women in science
  • Katalin Sulyok, president of the Hungarian Research Student Association (www.kutdiak.hu) and Board member of the Network of Youth Excellence (www.nyex.info) - a Congress for young scientists including 150 high school student researchers
The language of the Press Conference is Hungarian (translation from English will be provided), however, the Hungarian text will also be translated to English, if needed.

After the Press Conference participants are invited to have a look to the Sculpture Making Competition at the Science is Fun place of Building B.

Public Awareness Program Brochures
Public Awareness Program brochures in ENGLISH and HUNGARIAN. Public Awareness Program brochures on Women in Science in ENGLISH and HUNGARIAN. These broschures will be distributed to the citizens and tourists in Budapest. The brochures were also translated to Croatian, Polish, Romanian and Slovenian, and were distributed at the four satellites of the Congress.
