At the session, participants will receive the "bio-painting" of another contester with the original annotations and they have to make a novel version of the bio-painting using a projected image of the original painting as a background/help in two hours. All the three versions (an image of the original painting, the original bio-painting submitted prior to the Congress and the in situ made bio-painting) will be displayed by the end of the Contest. The best participants will be awarded. Those, who are interested to watch the contesters, please come to the Science is Fun place in Building B at 13:15 on July 3^rd, Sunday.

Congress participants may vote for the best painting. Awards will be announced at 18:30 on July 4^th Monday at the Science is Fun place.

In 2004 the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded for the discovery of ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation performed by the proteasome, the major proteolytic (recycling) apparatus of the cytoplasm. The Prize was shared by Aaron Ciechanover, Avram Hershko and Irvine Rose. Avram Hershko was born in Hungary in 1937. To commemorate this Nobel Prize we will organize a special program when the contesting teams will assemble a large variety of cleaned metal and plastic scrap. The 20 participants in four groups with the help of an artist and professional high school students will build a sculpture on the proteasomal function or image. Painting facilities and small electronic motors will also be given to help the fantasy of the teams become true. All of the sculptures will be exhibited in the congress venue and will be judged by an expert jury (Wolfgang Baumeister, Andor Udvardy and Balázs Czigler from the University of Applied Arts). The award certificates will be signed by Avram Hershko.

Detailed program of the 3D Modeling Contest
The program will have five main parts:

1. A 30 minutes workshop for all participants in which they use RasMol and mini-toobers to build a Zn finger
2. Teams design and build their proteins
3. Teams work for 2 hrs on model design and building, and construct a summary. The summary should contain a description of the model in terms of structure and function and the features they highlighted in their mode.
4. In the final 30 minutes, all participants, score all models except the one they helped build. Competition officials also participate in the judging. An example of a scoring rubric card given to each participant might be:
   • accuracy (5–10 points)
   • overall aesthetic quality (5–10 points)
   • creativity (4–7 points)
   • effectiveness of story (3–5 points)
5. Competition organizers tally points up and announce winner.
